We grew up with the threat of nuclear war, and were taught how to hold our heads and hide under our desks ~
(yeah ~ right ) when the big one came. We were shown pictures of what the mushroom cloud would look like, and we subconsiously listened for the buzz of the "Conalrad" alert on the radio.
At the time when we were just tumbling out of high school , and alcohol and cigarettes were the only visible drugs
around, as we went our ways to jobs, the service or to colleges, we didn’t really question things a whole lot. We more or less
accepted how things were.
We had been taught to honor our government, question it not, and to go into the world to make our fortunes. It was a time of new beginnings.
