A Discription Of Her Quilt by Alicia

( click on a picture to enlarge it )

A flying lion, for Leo rising, which is my rising sign in my natal chart.

My houseboat in Sausalito where I lived in 1967.

My guitar (with "real" strings made of fishing line).

The signature, is my signature, of course.

The Mungo patch was embroidered in yarn by Ray Mungo on a djellava he made from the instructions in Living on the Earth and gave me as a gift. I added the little red enameled star pin.

The Ramon patch was embroidered by Ramon during the time we created Being of the Sun, and is the same solar god image as in the book.

Taurus the bull (my sun sign) is pulling the pomegranite chariot of Persephone, goddess of the seasons. The wheel represents the seasons. The bull is not yoked, but pulling the chariot of free will.

A duck playing in a rainstorm represents my getting used to living in rainy Northern California after growing up in LA.

The solar eye is a God's eye, and there is also an embroidered sun and an embroidered solar system in this piece.
